I took this photo two years ago. I was walking down Studewood in the historic Heights neighborhood. I had just left Antidote Coffeehouse. It is one of my favorite nature shots. The reason is because it captures two different aspects of nature, two that very much depend on one another for survival. Yet again nature teaches us a valuable lesson in life. I am currently sitting outside at one of the tables in front of Agora. Agora is a Greek coffeehouse. It is located in the bohemian Montrose neighborhood. It occupies a historic two story house along Westheimer. It is my favorite coffeehouse in Houston. It is one of the best places in the entire city to people watch. They have a diverse selection of wine, beer, and coffee. I am currently drinking an iced mocha. They also have a diverse selection of pastries and Greek chocolates. My favorite is the marble pound cake. On Wednesday nights there is a belly dancing show. One of the best things about Agora is the diverse clientele it attracts. It not only represents the eclectic residents of Montrose but the international vibe found throughout the entire city. During a visit you may only hear foreign languages being spoken. There is a jukebox that plays a eclectic mix of music. There is an upstairs lounge that has a couple of sofas and a big screen t.v. Depending on the day there is either independent films or futbol playing. Beware! Be careful of either walking up or down the back staircase. It is very steep. There is WI-FI available for laptop users. Btw, this first official review is dedicated to YOU! Thank you for the inspiration!
This is the underground tunnel that connects the Beck Building and the Law Building (Museum of Fine Arts Houston). It was designed by artist James Turrell.
